Exhibition Info:
Curators Gridthiya Gaweewong and Michael Shoawanasai are
pioneers of the video and new media art scene in Bangkok,
both with their artist-led space Project 304, and BEFF -
Bangkok Experimental Film Festival - which has successfully
run bi-annually since 1996. 3Head or Tail2 or 3Hua rua Goy2
is the term that Thais use to describe the uncertainty of
a situation, or simply to gamble with the future. Under
the dynamic tension posed by this uncertainty the curators
have chosen a group of new media and video artists who use
the latest in technology to express the concerns of modern
life in general and in South East Asia in particular.
Project 304:
Started as an alternative space based in Bangkok, Project
304 is initiated and run by artists and curators since late
1996. It is now defunct and transformed itself to a non-
site -project based art organization. Its goals are to use
art as a means to bring greater awareness and appreciation
of the
contemporary arts to society at large. Project 304 provides
and facilitates a forum for emerging local artists, as well
as for well-established national and international ones.
Pallas Contemporary Projects:
Pallas is at the forefront of a vibrant contemporary art
scene in Ireland. It has established a reputation
for imaginative and challenging projects, with both gallery
based and off-site projects, which both interact and challenge
artistic content in Ireland and internationally. Their previous
exhibition space, Pallas Heights, utilised semi-derelict
flats in North Dublin. Over five years Pallas Heights hosted
19 exhibitions with over 30 young and emerging artists.
In January 2007 Pallas opened a new exhibition space
situated in Dublin 7, beside Stoneybatter and Smithfield.
Pallas Contemporary Projects1 program
focuses on the exchange of young Irish and international
artists with a strong conceptual approach working in different
media. Pallas Contemporary Projects
