TAKESHI NISHIMOTO
Now based in Berlin, Japanese guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto moved to the United States to study guitar at the University of Southern California, where he received instruction from a host of luminaries including James Smith and Scott Tennant.
In addition to studying European classical music, Nishimoto also took time to explore jazz with Joe Diorio and David Oaks, and later played in master classes supervised by the classical / flamenco master Pepe Romero.
Ever subtle and extraordinarily
focused, Nishimoto is marked out by his relentless pursuit
of innovatory approaches to his discipline, and he has since
collaborated with musicians ranging from the late sitar master
Rahul Sakyaputra to the electronic music composer John Tejada
(as: I’m Not A Gun). Nishimoto is on the 'City
Centre Offices' label.
