RAY MANG

UK-based, of Indian origin, Raj Gupta aka Ray Mang released his first (now highly sought-after) EP in 1996 and has since gone on to become an influential force in the London Nu House scene, releasing a string
of 12” hits on his own Mangled label to an enthusiastic reception from the likes of Gilles Peterson, James Lavelle, and Andy Weatherall.

Some highlights from this period were collected on the album Mangled, released on Belgian label Eskimo Recordings in 2002 to critical acclaim, and Ray’s skills have been in even greater demand since:
with remixes of Bloc Party and Terry Callier to his credit (as Block 16 with partner Peter Zikovic), alongside collaborations and production work for names such as Lady Kier and Jhelisa.
