return to DEAF after a sellout DEAF ‘05 performance
at the Village with Galaxy to Galaxy. UR live act
Interstellar Fugitives will take over RiRa’s intimate
basement club for a last minute surprise visit! And
with the new release of their 2LP ''Interstellar Fugitives
2 - Destruction Of Order'' only on release in Japan this
show promises to take us from downtempo, electro-acoustic
sounds, techno-house, to electro-rock, displaying the full
depth and range of the Underground Resistance collective.
DEAF welcome’s the return of the UR king-pins Mad
Mike, Cornelius, DJ Scurge, Ray & Frankie Fultz to close
up DEAF 2007.
On hand to infuse some soul & house into the evening
will be highly popular name in the Japanese house scene,
Ryota Nozaki bringing his jazz and soul-inspired work as
Jazztronik to Dublin for the DEAF closing party. Trained
in classical and traditional music and an accomplished musician
in his own right, Nozaki is equally at home in a live band
environment as he is in the role of DJ/producer, recently
showcasing his skills at orchestration in a 14-strong line-up.
Heavily inspired by the likes of George Duke and Herbie
Hancock, Nozaki’s Latin/Brazilian-inspired style effortlessly
crosses the boundaries between house and broken beats –
as remixes for London Elektricity, and DJ support from names
such as Gilles Peterson and Louie Vega have testified to.
With four albums released since 1998, the prolific Nozaki
has now upped the ante, promising to release up to three
albums per year.
Performing alongside Jazztronik & Interstellar Fugitives
will be a host of international festival artists including
Tomohisa Kuramitsu aka Baiyon [Japan], Katsuhiko [Japan],
Yuki:o [Japan], Takeshi [Japan], Sketchpad & Fugato
[Japan] plus the annual presentation of the D1 Live Showcase
over two floors featuring a selection from the well established
Dublin techno label.
