CHEQUERBOARD
Chequerboard is Dublin guitarist
/ electronic producer John Lambert who creates rich emotional
guitar soundscapes. In 2007, Lambert received a music fellowship
from the Model Arts & Niland Gallery in Sligo where he
has spent the year producing a new album which will see a
nationwide release next February, promising a guitar album
with Lambert’s unique stamp. His slow burner mini album
‘Dictaphone Showreels’ released in late 2005 was
a collection of wistful and melodic guitar pieces intercut
with textured samples and found sound and received endorsements
and radioplay from John Kelly (Lyric FM) and Donal Dineen
(Today FM). After a series of high profile support slots this
year with The Books & Murcof and a succesful series of
shows playing alongside the super 8 films of Donal Dineen
(Today FM), interest in the Chequerboard sound has been growing
rapidly since.
Chequerboard will be touring
the country in select venues next February to mark the launch
of his new album ‘Penny Black’.
