SKETCH PAD

Japanese-born minimal techno DJs and producers aka Mineto Kanai and Katsuhiko formed SketchPad in 2006. Kanai aka Waterprotection formed Nordform to marry his ideas for design, space and visuals in 2001, and then moved into production in 2002, producing the first Nordform compilation a year later.

Working with online magazine SHIFT, the pair’s bi-monthly parties and unselfconscious marriage of art and music have proved hugely influential in their hometown of Sapporo, greatly contributing to energising the indigenous techno scene.
