A pinhole camera, erected at Lake St. Clair, Tasmania, constructed in an attempt to simulate a comet. A sculptural soundtrack floating between a suspended ventilation system, transforming the gallery air. A series of found objects….. an assemblage of shimmering intentionalities.

Curated by Gavin Murphy with curator/critic Chris Fite-Wassilak, ‘Automatic’ is a two-part international group-show of works that aim to confront and insinuate themselves with the viewer.

Attempting to question what might be innate and what might be instinctual, each artist works within the daily experiences that lie beyond conscious decisions.

Presenting works that stretch out to the viewer with an immediacy that points beyond themselves, ‘Automatic’ sketches out the persistent, ghostly sensory circuit between the artist, the artwork and the audience.

Automatic is generously supported by The Arts Council, The Chelsea Arts Club Trust, Mondriaan Foundation, Culture Ireland, Goethe-Institut, The Arts Council of Ireland and Dublin City Council
