A nine-piece ensemble led by saxophonist Nick Roth, Yurodny features a string quartet (Oleg Ponomarev, Adrian Hart, Cora Venus Lunny and Kate Ellis), with trombone and rhythm section (Colm O’Hara, Francesco Turrisi, Dave Redmond and Phil Macmullan).

As part of the group’s Winter Tour to launch their new record ‘Evenset’, Yurodny will be joined by very special guests Mihaly Borbely, Miklos Lukacs, Tom Arthurs, Paul Williamson and Ben Davis for a live electronic treatment of their set, marking a new collaboration with leading electroacoustic composer Linda Buckley.

EVENSET WINTER TOUR  /  PRESS RELEASE SEPTEMBER ‘09 

‘EVENSET’ is the second release by YURODNY, following last year’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Odd Set’.  

‘EVENSET’ was produced by the legendary Gilad Atzmon, and features saxophonist Nick Roth’s nine-piece ensemble joined by several leading international guest artists, including UK musicians Tom Arthurs (trumpet) and Ben Davis (cello), the brilliant Australian trumpeter Paul Williamson and two pivotal figures on the Hungarian jazz scene, Mihály Borbély (woodwinds) and Miklós Lukács (cimbalom). 

Supported by a New Work Award from the Arts Council of Ireland and a Performance and Touring Award from Music Network, Diatribe Records is pleased to announce the launch of the ‘EVENSET’ WINTER TOUR, which will take place throughout Ireland from October 21st through to November 6th.
