While Swedish dj/producer Mika “Grovskopa” Hallbäck gravitates towards the intricate, menacingly-industrial techno that emerged in the UK in the late ‘90s, he also counts Steve Reich, Arvo Part, Liaisons Dangereuses and Boyd Rice as influences. Forming Emergence Records as a vehicle for his own music in 2001, the label also came to offer a home to fellow rising talents in techno such as Reeko, Persuasion Channel and Hallbäck’s former production partner, Archae.
