Heralded as one of the best live shows in the world at the moment, the momentum gathering behind the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is nothing short of staggering.

With noted performances at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Lovebox and many of the bigger festivals across Europe, this band are a huge favourite – not just with ChoiceCuts regulars ‚ fans also include David Byrne, Q-Tip, Madlib, Jay-Z, Erykah Badu, Jools Holland and Barack Obama.

Joining Mos Def and Tony Allen to comprise the new line-up for Damon Albarn”s Gorrilaz outfit, this band is no ordinary collective. The eight brothers ‚ all the sons of Sun Ra Trumpeter and songwriter Phil Cohran have been playing together since they were three years of age. In short, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble enjoy a deeper musical heritage than most.

Their first official full length studio album was recently released on Albarn”s ‘Honest Jon’s’ label.
